July 8, 2009, Palm Springs, CA – The Denver Cougars traveled over one thousand miles only to get hunted down and slaughtered by the Palm Springs POWER as they went on to win 11-2 on Wednesday night inside Palm Springs Stadium.
POWER captain P.J. Jimenez started out with a single in the first inning and was moved over to second on a ground ball from Tyler Saladino. He stole third base and scored when Miles Parsons misfired a throw for a 1-0 lead.
After recording two quick outs in the bottom of the second, the Cougars walked Brian Heere and Max Willett back to back and Brett Christopher slapped a double into left field to drive both of them in. Jimenez followed with a single into right field to score Christopher to take a 4-0 advantage.
