PALM SPRINGS, CA–The POWER practiced early Monday morning in preparation of Game One of the Southern California Collegiate Baseball League (SCCBL) Championship versus the So Cal Athletics played at Palm Springs Stadium, Tuesday, July 26th at 7:05 p.m.

“The practice was good,” said left fielder Marcus Romero. “Everything from batting to fielding was great.”
The POWER are going into the playoffs playing superb baseball, winning 26 out of their last 27 games. At one point during the season the POWER won 20 ballgames in a row, breaking the franchise record previously set at 17 in a row.
“We had a strong mindset in the game going into the playoffs, getting hits in clutch situations,” said Romero.
The POWER look to recapture the SCCBL title, after a heartbreaking loss in last year’s championship game. The POWER went undefeated against the So Cal Athletics this season, beating them four times.
“We have been working hard all season,” said starting pitcher Nick Baker on the upcoming series. “I think we will do well and win the series.”
Baker, who is 9-0 on the season, will get the start for Tuesday’s big game. Last week, Baker enjoyed setting a new POWER franchise record for most wins, and looks to collect his 10th tomorrow night under the lights.
“I am going to treat this game like any other. Sleep in most of the day and eat a good meal.”
The Athletics will host Game Two at Rio Hondo Community College in Whittier on Wednesday, July 27 at 2:05 p.m. The POWER will host Game Three (if necessary) on Thursday night at 7:05 p.m.
Tuesday and Thursday’s game (if necessary) will also feature $1 Bud and Bud Light Draft beers and if you are one of the first 200 fans in attendance, you will receive a complimentary noisemaker.
