PALM SPRINGS, CA – The first day of the annual Palm Springs Power Youth Camp was a success. Kids ages 5-18 showed up at Palm Springs Stadium to improve their baseball skills. Power players and coaches spent the day instructing and playing with the kids during the first day of the three day camp. Even the summer heat couldn’t phase them as they came prepared with their water and enthusiasm.

In the cages they worked on their hitting skills. Balls were tossed as the kids worked on the timing of their swings. In the outfield players showed them the proper way to take a relay throw and get it back into the infield. They worked on tracking fly balls and the proper steps to take, and they learned how to stay down on the ball in the infield.

For the end of the day the kids got a real treat. A giant tarp was set up, a hose was turned on and sliding drills commenced. Slipping and sliding, the kids learned sliding techniques and how to safely reach base when a throw is coming in fast.

There are still two more days of camp left. If you still want to be a part of this great experience there are still spots left that will be offered for a discount.
