Car fanatic

When Alan Gatz rolls to Palm Springs Stadium in his 1973 Ford Maverick with a big block super charger and customized plates that reads “GATZ*03”, he is making a statement; his knowledge about cars goes far beyond any encyclopedia.  He attends car shows all around Southern California and constantly researches new specifications on the World Wide Web to stay up to date.  The Torrance native will be making the transfer from El Comino Community College to Tennessee Wesleyan this coming fall for the better of his baseball career and to continue his study of Kinesiology.  In his first year with the POWER, number 3 drove all over opposing batters with three wins, a paper thin .163 batting average against, a 2.43 ERA, and punched out 32 hitters in 29 2/3 innings.  Outside of baseball, Gatz relaxes at the South Bay beaches, attends Haloes matches, and is a killer Texas Hold’em player.
