Drew McDonald has no problem catching in the Palm Springs sizzling temperature this summer, since he grew up in Tucson, Arizona and will be a senior this coming fall at University of New Mexico majoring in Biology. The well-built 6’1” 205 pounder was a 2004 draft pick by the Seattle Mariners in the 47th round, but opted to continue his education. Baseball runs in Drew’s blood; one of his uncles is none other than the all-time hit leader, Pete Rose. If baseball doesn’t work out for number 15, he has his eyes set on becoming an orthodontist. When Drew isn’t frequently articulating, “All right!” or lecturing about America around the locker room and in the dugout, he can be found rock climbing, weight lifting, watching “South Park”, eating at Arby’s or listening to country or rap music.
