PALM SPRINGS, CA – The Palm Springs POWER (30-6) offense had a big night, collecting 10 runs on 16 hits in a 10-4 victory over the Santa Maria Packers (13-23) at Palm Springs Stadium on Saturday night.

Rich Seigel led the charge, going 3-for-5 with two doubles, three RBIs and a run scored. Brock Whitney also had his first multi-hit game of the season with three singles of his own.

Palm Springs used an unconventional approach on the mound, as seven different pitchers combined for 18 total strikeouts in the win.

Each hurler had at least one punch out and starter Gabriel Asakura had five in just two innings. Edgar Gomez (5-0) pitched two scoreless to pick up the win.

The POWER will go for the sweep of the Packers tomorrow night at 7:05 p.m. at Palm Springs Stadium. The first 150 fans in attendance will receive POWER souvenir backpacks as part of the Sunday Giveaway Day series.
